Social services of Municipalities for children and education

An analysis of nursery schools, transport and meal services in a webinar organized by IFEL and the University Cà Foscari

A seminar organized by IFEL and University Ca’ Foscari to discuss some issues related to education and in particular nursery schools and school transport service.

The meeting was scheduled for March 3rd, 2020 but due to problems related to COVID-19 emergency the seminar was replaced by a webinar on March 16th.

SOSE took part to the webinar with the speeches of Marco Stradiotto and Paolo Mazzeo, of the Unit “Public Finance” entitled Nursery schools, development prospects in the evaluation of standard expenditure needs of Municipalities.

Great attention was paid to the allocation of resources necessary to provide this service by municipalities. The services related to education have been recently analysed and evaluated by lawmakers becayse they are closely linked to the right to education and other important constitutional rights.

The contribution of each speaker to the webinar created the basis for an in-depth study useful to detect information and analyse the services offered and the demand for services within local authorities focusing on their weaknesses and potentialities.

In addition to SOSE experts, Marco Stradiotto and Paolo Mazzeo, also Fabio Fiorillo (Polythecnic University of Marche), Stefania Porchia, Maddalena Poiana and Angela Zin (Ca Foscari), Larissa Minzuk (IFEL), Alessandro Pirani (University of Bologna), Emilia Marchionni and Corrado Pollastri (UPB) and Fabio Lanzoni (MIPA) participated to the webinar.

All the reports presented during the seminar will be included in the Ca’ Foscari Report on Municipalities within the essays elaborated on this issue.
