Merger of SOSE into Sogei Effective from 1 January 2024

As of 1 January 2024, the merger between SOSE and Sogei has become operational.

As of 1 January 2024, the merger of SOSE into Sogei becomes operational, pursuant to Law No. 112 of 2023, which provided for the merger of the company “with the aim of optimising the effectiveness, efficiency and cost-efficiency of services rendered to the economic and financial administration.”

This represents a crucial step in strengthening the institutional system of the Ministry of Economic and Finance, as it enables the creation of a centre of excellence capable of supporting the Ministry in its decision-making processes. The merger combines SOSE’s statistical and economic expertise with Sogei’s technological capabilities, thereby covering the entire cycle from data collection and processing to analysis and public dissemination.

The objective is clear: to reinforce the capacity to create value for the Public Administration and for Italy as a whole, starting from key areas such as taxation and local public finance.

Concurrently with the incorporation, SOSE’s points of contact will be gradually phased out. The company’s institutional website will continue to host only content related to the “Società Trasparente” section, and SOSE’s social media accounts on X (Twitter), LinkedIn and YouTube will be progressively deactivated starting from 1 January 2024. The OpenCivitas.it website will continue its operations without interruption.

All content previously managed by SOSE will be integrated into Sogei’s broader communication and information activities. Users who previously followed SOSE are invited to refer to Sogei’s official social media channels on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube to stay updated on matters relating to taxation and fiscal federalism.
